Catch Up, Part 2

Once again, I really have no valid excuse for my lack of blogging, other than I enjoy laying around on the couch in the comfort of the AC on these scorching summer days!  And the fact that after two years I have NO HOMEWORK or STUDYING to do - I am enjoying my free time and spending time with my loves.

On June 19th I *OFFICIALLY* graduated as a registered nurse (RN!)  And it feels sooooooo good!  My nursing boards are SCHEDULED - I hope to report back to you all soon that I passed!

Iowa Central - Class of 2012 RN's

These two people were my inspiration for the past two years :)
A summer isn't complete without a trip to the county fair!  We were able to visit the Worth County Fair while we were home for Adam's 15-year class reunion.  Harper's shyness was in full swing while attempting to go on the rides - she was NOT a fan of the strange carnee's!  Last year she LOVED this same exact ride - silly girl!

Not a fan of the ride!
We did not make it home for the 4th of July this year because it was SO STINKIN' HOT!  However, we cheered Brett on from Clarion as he was crowned Junior Mr. Northwood!!!!!!!  We now have royalty in our family for the next year ;)

Harper and I went to the fireworks with our neighbors, as Adam had to work :(  We were able to go home the weekend following the 4th for Northwood's festivities.  It was great seeing family and friends.

So far our summer has consisted of going to the pool during the day and going to the high school baseball games at night.  It's hard to believe that August is just around the corner, which means our baby will be starting 3-year-old preschool!

I have been studying for my boards and will take them soon.  I will hopefully start working at the hospital here in Clarion in August.  My plan is to work PRN (as needed).  I am still able to get full-time hours if I desire, I just won't have the benefits (which Adam has).  I like that I'm not obligated to work nights, holidays, weekends, etc.  In addition to nursing, I'm also going to substitute teach!!!!!  Between nursing and teaching, I hope to stay pretty busy.  I LOVE the idea that I will be able to CHOOSE when I want to work - I don't want to miss any of Harper's school events!
